Should You Buy SodaStream? 3 Reasons

SodaStream (NASDAQ: SODA  ) is an Israeli company whose product lets you carbonate your own water at home, making everything from regular soda water to your own cola, with the help of SodaStream syrup packets. The product has been around for decades in Europe, and in some countries such as Sweden, as many as a quarter of households have a SodaStream in their home. When you consider that the product has just arrived on U.S. shores and currently serves less than 1% of the available market, you start to see the massive growth potential, especially as the U.S. is moving toward more health-conscious food and drink choices.

SodaStream's carbonation technology sounds simple, right? Well, this razor-and-blade company offers an intriguing opportunity for growth that may be harder to duplicate than you might think. Our premium report on SodaStream explains the opportunities as well as the risks in the company. The report comes with a year's worth of updates, so just click here to get started.

The main reason NOT to buy SodaStream is that it is made in an illegal Israeli settlement built on stolen West Bank Palestinian land. All of Israel's settlements in Palestine's West Bank are in violation of the Geneva Conventions that prohibit an occupying power (in this case, Israel) from transferring its population to or profiting from land it occupies (in this case Palestine's West Bank). The settlements were also ruled illegal by the International Court of Justice. SodaStream mislabels its product as made in Israel, but it is made in an illegal settlement.
